Musicians of the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra in Vienna are playing under the direction of Michael Mautner

“the music composed for the theatre of orgies and mysteries is developing more and more in the direction of celestial sounds. cosmic roaring of the emergence of galaxies is intended. my music consists primarily of layers of sustained complexes of tones. michael mautner has developed a symphony for a string orchestra from the score of my first string quartet. this symphony was successfully premiered on the occasion of the 8th biennial of contemporary art in moscow.” HERMANN NITSCH

In the chapel of the exhibition structure, the Acoustics Research Institute at the Austrian Academy of Sciences is implementing a large-scale projection of the music of Hermann Nitsch. The Akusmonautikum in Vienna is making the sound reproduction of this music possible.

Information & rules of conduct

for the opening of NEW WORKS with “Moscow Symphony”

  • Due to the Covid-19 regulation a maximum of 117 guests can participate in the event. The first come, first served principle will apply.
  • A face mask must be worn when entering and leaving your seat.
  • The regulations about wearing a face mask or other protective measures that are valid on the day of the event shall apply. A face mask is required when entering and leaving your seat.
  • On the day of the event, admission is not possible for people who have not registered.
  • Please make sure you inform the nitsch museum team in advance if you pass on tickets to other people. We need their contact addresses.
  • Admission is from 3:00 pm.
  • Please arrive by 3:45 pm at the latest.
  • The event will take place with a one-way system
  • There will not be a break during the event.
  • Due to the large distance between the stage and audience area, the audience and artists are protected from each other at all times.
  • For the bus transfer from Vienna, the valid regulations for public transport apply.
  • Tickets are checked in contactless form.
  • For admission please pay attention to the stewards. You will be taken to the seat assigned to you in your name.
  • Please observe the distancing and access regulations for the toilets.
  • After the event, your seat must not be vacated until you are prompted to do this by a steward and you will be asked to leave the area afterwards.
  • Please always follow the instructions of the stewards and observe the signs.
  • Please keep a distance of one metre from people outside your household at all times and avoid gathering in groups, especially at entrances and exits.
  • Please adhere to the generally applicable hygiene rules such as sneezing etiquette, regular hand washing or disinfection, etc. Disinfectant dispensers are available on the premises.
  • If there are programme booklets, they will be on the chairs.
  • Please observe the rules for toilets: enter individually. Wait at a distance of 1 m.
