7 ROTE & 7 BUNTE NITSCH-STATIONEN
7 RED & 7 COLORFUL NITSCH STATIONS
In his art, Hermann Nitsch celebrates life in archaic symbols such as that of blood in order to celebrate life itself and transform the symbols of religions into something primordial, so that religion, art and life find their way back to their original unity. This afternoon at the nitsch museum can also be understood as a literary-musical “Stations of the Cross”.
The theologian and psychotherapist Arnold Mettnitzer makes direct reference to the current exhibition “My Nitsch - curated by Karlheinz Essl” and assigns texts from world literature to the individual “stations”, to which the internationally award-winning saxophonist Edgar Unterkirchner responds musically.
Edgar Unterkirchner is a freelance saxophonist and composer who travels between the most diverse styles and projects and is rooted in improvised music.
Arnold Mettnitzer is a theologian and psychotherapist in private practice in Vienna.
